Bachelor and Master Theses

The department for Nanostructures at the institute for Solid State Physics offers bachelor and master theses related to magneto-transport experiments in ultrasmall semiconducting and metallic systems.

In the case of special technological interest we offer the possibility to learn advanced thin-film technology, like e-beam lithography. Technologically oriented projects will be done in close collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research at Stuttgart or the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (national institute of standards) at Braunschweig. Both institutes offer well equipped clean-room facilities.

Current opportunities include

  • nanolithography using an atomic force microscope,
  • dynamic conductance of low-dimensional systems with regard to the use of single electron effects for the realization of a current standard, as well as
  • interaction of phonons with two-dimensional electron systems and single electron tunneling devices.

Jobs

Research Assistants

The Nanostructures Group of the Institute for Solid State Physics is looking for research assistants concerning the development and implementation of electronic devices and components. Experience and knowledge are an advantage, but not essential. Of major importance are a general interest and dedication.
